Cloud Outliner - Nested Lists App Reviews

Great app

This outliner does a fantastic job of replacing my former outliner-and I have more options than with my old app. The combination of auto-numbering and choice of colors to add to my entries helps me keep my thoughts straight & my outlines uniform.l I also appreciate the ability to move my sub-tasks around without switching modes, as was the case with my former outliner. I believe its that, along with the option to have a (very nice looking) dark background & color options that I appreciate the most, though. Its much easier on my eyes and much better looking than dimming a white screen. My eyes are very sensitive to light, and are actually relieved when I work with this outliner. The font size & style choices are also helpful, as with a small, bolded font, I can see a lot of my information at once, and do so comfortably. Thank you for this outliner, its a great app. Id recommend it to anyone.

Not optimized for ipad pro / 6 plus

The app is not optimized yet for iPad Pro / iPhone 6 plua

Terrific

Finally I found this app. Ive been looking for a hierarchical list app for ages and was able to track this down by reading reviews of other apps pointing in this direction. Open or collapse nested items; change color or boldface; change font size. Its everything I need and have been seeking since the days of my Palm device.

Does a great job

Easy to use. Creates great outlines. Easy to share them. Good tech support.

Hot Pink

Love this app! It is so easy to set up and use. Editing is a snap. The simple format is easy on the eyes and it prints beautifully.

Fantastic useful app

Thank you for opml support. This allows me to import my to do list from Omnioutliner to the ipad or iphone with ease. And my version of Omnioutliner for os X is very old! The interface is designed well too, fun to use, fun to swipe, fast and intuitive. We all know intuitive touch interfaces are difficult to design? I love this app and it is one of my favorites. This company knows how to make a superb user experience.

Buy a hammer and hit yourself in the eye instead.

1. The app continually does crap in the background causing momentary app-hangs 2. The app continuously and randomly chooses for some mysterious reason to move the cursor to the end of whatever I am working on, no matter if I had been dead-center of the text in question, frequently in the middle of words, so I now have odd collections of letters scattered throughout. 3. The app just stops. 4. The app does things I am not telling it to do, while not doing what I am telling it to do. 5. The app blocks my writing (a writing app that makes impossible writing).

Excellent

Easy to use. Great backup on iCloud and Evernote--this makes the outlines available everywhere. The built in manager of outline files is great.

Best in features

I use this outline app the most. It simply does the best. Its simple and direct which is just what I needed. Ive used MANY other outlining applications and some of them are really, really nice, and some are more sophisticated, but this app just feels like its an extension of how I am thinking. It does the important things very well. This is my most favored outlining app.

Good but...

The iPhone app itself works well but the Mac side is a bit lame. Evernote is a great program, but a pretty weak outliner (cut and paste instead of drag). And on the phone you can adjust the text size within outlines but the app controls and outline titles use *minuscule* text and theres no user control. I hope theyll fix these basics soon.

Text Legibility Issues & Clunky UX

The formatting of the text (padding, inconsistent line heights between text and elements) is poor. Meaning, the text in the lines of the outline feels cramped, making it hard to read. Poor contrast between categories and subcategories (same weight) further contribute to poor legibility. Onboarding for what is a clunky workflow seems like an afterthought - with a few overlays thrown in. Workflow of creating an outline is clunky. If youre fat fingered, youll have trouble selecting the tiny controls that appear when a line of text is selected. Nice idea, but not ready for prime time and not worth paying for -

Highly satisfactory

Cloud Outliner performs very well and does all the things that that outliners are supposed to do. In fact, there features that I havent yet used. Im very impressed and hope the creators continue to support & enhance this app for a long time.

Terrible software

Sorry- but this is just bad software. I had Cloud Outliner 1, and it was in many ways better. (Note- but there was no auto-correct in v.1 What you typed was what you got. Seriously). More icons/controls in the old one, and far simpler. For this version, they tried to streamline it, but its now much harder to figure out and use. Very hard to expand & collapse headings, because you have to tap exactly, precisely right on the center of the arrow. Think about that for a moment. Its wasted so much time for me. You can give text a color, but you cant switch it back to plain black, because black isnt a choice in the color palette. Geez. I think this is a one-man operation, and he doesnt get feedback. Speaking of which, I tried to get support and never heard back. Theres a lot of interesting stuff here, but the edges are way too rough. Heres hoping the developer widens his circle somewhat, and refined this into a useable app.

Very, very pleased

Decades ago, I used an outliner from Symantec--Im not even clearly remembering the name now... It might have been "More," but whats in a name--and Ive been looking for an outliner I like as well ever since. This is it. There are a few features Id like (such as better encryption and support for passwords, not just PINs, and the ability to sync with DropBox and Noteworthy) but this is the closest Ive found to what Id call a full-featured outlining tool in more than twenty-five years of looking. Bravo!

A critical and superb tool

Cloud outliner 2 -- very much enhanced from version 1 -- works perfectly and is my first go to tool to both capture tasks (and ideas) and to prioritize these each by dragging, dropping, or deleting. The program design in version 2 is attractive and easy to learn and use. Personally, I think everyone would benefit big-time from having this program.

Awesome

Very cool outline app; simple to use. Just what I was looking for.

Great app!

Great app. I have used several outliners and this appears to be one of the best. I would rate it 10 stars if i could if there was a windows based version as well, not web based.

I switched from another outliner

The cloud features between iphone, ipad, and Macintosh work seamlessly. This product meets all of my needs!

Great outlining app for Evernote

The tight integration between Evernote and this app is fabulous. Updates in either app sync flawlessly. A recent Mac version makes it even better. The sync between devices is great.
