Cloud Outliner - Nested Lists App Reviews

Great , yet....

I would like to be able to print the outlines. I would like to write notes or annotate outside the outlines too.

Excellent app

Does exactly what it says it does.

Excellent basic outliner

This outliner fills an obvious void for Evernote users. It provides 2-way syncing of outlines. Since there is basically no outlining in Evernote, this app is highly needed and appreciated.

On the whole, a major improvement!

The new version is a great step forward. I just wish it it converted to Word because the opml is not practical for me. You got a winner!

Checked Items Request

This is a very good outlining app. It would be better if the checked items automatically moved to the bottom of the main item so you could easily see what tasks remain to be completed.

Outstanding...

... does exactly what it says it will do.

Used by a Professional Creative.

Its been said, "Creative people have messy minds." The context was not one of derision of a valueless condition of a cognitive preference, habit, or pitiful condition. "Creatives" actively wrangle with and ensure the growth of their ability to increasing create value. Some above "messiness" can be sorted via list-making and, per a common native skill among creatives, divining the connections and relationships that enable sorting and ordering. Mind-mapping apps, for me, eventually become a game, and the tail wags the dog. This app enables a faster, more intuitive capture and sorting of what content I wish to capture in that, my implacable stream-of-consciousness raw form awesomeness-delivery.

Perfect for packing lists

Beyond its primary use as an outlining tool, I have found the app to be perfect for developing packing lists for trips or outings. It is quick and easy to create hierarchical lists (with optional checkboxes), syncs great with iPad and Mac versions, and has ability to lock a document (so that it can be used primarily as a checklist). Only area needing improvement is Watch app. When using checkboxes, a tap anywhere on an item checks/unchecks it - but it would be better if tapping on check box toggles checkmark but tapping on text revealed full text of the item.

Nice iOS Outliner

I was rather skeptical of the reviews posted for this app--they looked like paid plants. But I tried the free app, and then the paid app. Its a nice, simple outliner. I learned it in about five minutes and was immediately productive. Theres nothing fancy in this app, but my needs are simple--I want to outline books as I read them, and it works very nicely for that. No crashes so far, and no lost data. The UI is simple, and it follows Apples guidelines pretty well. It feels like an Apple app, which is important to me. Money well spent.

Syncs poorly (corrupts data) with Evernote

I bought this because of its Evernote syncing. Unfortunately, that feels half-finished. (Maybe the iCloud version works fine. Didnt test because its not what I need.) Data corruption: If you sync immediately after editing a line, that line isnt synced. (It shows as blank in Evernote.) Thatd be annoying (but maybe livable) if the line went out next time you synced, but no. It thinks it is synced so it stays blank in Evernote forever. Edit in evernote and the blank line is synced back to the app, thus trashing your data permanently. Delete a note in the app, and it doesnt delete in evernote. When I contacted support, they seem uninterested. "Oh yeah. That isnt supported." "Oh yeah, remember to move to a different line before syncing so the one you were editing isnt trashed." If they dont want to support Evernote, they should remove the feature and stop advertising it. I tested Workflowy and it didnt corrupt like this. Unfortunately, it doesnt sync with Evernote so Ill be sticking with Evernotes buggy outline editing.

Perfect little app

Use it for outlining scripts/Breaking stories. Very easy to export in pdf etc. Does the job.

Great app for organizing thoughts

Only thing it lacks is wish there was a desktop version for pc for easy input and typing

Great outliner app

Love the ability to sync to Evernote

Mostly Good

I love the ease of this app. I have it on my laptop and phone. No problems with sync. However, I hate it when my outline gets too long and Im stuck at the bottom of the window... cant see cursor flashing. Should be a full screen mode that keeps the cursor in the middle of the page. Because, at this point, the software is getting in the way.

Requests

Please add the ability to click and drag notes the way outline elements do the same currently. Please add multi-tasking support. What good is an outline I cant use to write a pages or Storyist document with? Please add the ability to share outlines and create collaborative features. Perhaps, hosting on dropbox with a permalink or the google docs equivalent. Please add export features that strip out or optionally control formatting so I can simply use the outline pasted into a document to start a draft.

Super Nice For The Price

This app and the matching OS X equivalent work so much better than Omni Outliner. The cloud function is perfect and I love how it integrates with iCloud and Evernote. The password protection is a great feature. There are a few things I would like such as applying bold, italic, color, etc. to individual words, but for the price, its fantastic. Id pay triple the amount to have it fleshed out with more features.

Frustrating- broken

I really want to like this app but I cant get it to retain what I put into it. Entries delete themselves and strange things happen. So I dont trust this app for any of my information.

Nice app, but

This is a very nice app,I found a little bug while trying to use my keyboard in word-correcting mode, the correction dose not apply and suggestions wont pop up.one more thing I think this app will be really great if I would be able to add something more to my outlines for example a doodle or small picture or sketch.

Perfect outlining app (desktop version too)

Best outliner I have experienced. Syncs with Evernote which is a huge plus. I use the desktop version on two computers as well. Sync is great. Only downside is no URL scheme for deep linking.

This is a great program.

I love making lists for stuff. Usually have notecards and paper everywhere. Now it is on my phone and synced automagically with my iMac and MacBook. Absolutely love it!!
